KERA FM ADDS TWO PROGRAMS TO WEEKDAY LINEUP

“The Takeaway” and “Tell Me More” Begin Airing November 12

DALLAS/FORT WORTH – KERA 90.1 FM, the public radio affiliate for NPR in North Texas, is pleased to announce the addition of two radio shows to the station’s weekday broadcasting lineup. Beginning Monday, November 12, The Takeaway and Tell Me More will become a part of KERA FM’s program schedule.

The Takeaway, airing weekdays at 11:00 a.m. beginning November 12, is a one-hour national news program hosted by the Peabody and Emmy award-winning journalist John Hockenberry. The program engages audiences across America and in many corners of the globe on important topics like education, immigration, healthcare, the evolving national and global economies and the politics of our time. The Takeaway is a co-production of PRI (Public Radio International) and WNYC Radio in collaboration with The New York Times and WGBH Boston.

Tell Me More will also be added to the program schedule beginning Monday, November 12 at 8:00 p.m. Familiar to avid public radio fans, Tell Me More focuses on the way we live, intersect and collide in a culturally diverse world. Each day, host Michel Martin features a variety of segments examining U.S. and international news, ideas and people; the range of topics covers politics, faith and spirituality, the family, finance, arts and culture and lifestyle.

Fresh Air with Terry Gross will now air weekday afternoons at 3:00 p.m., leading directly into the afternoon news program All Things Considered at 4:00 p.m. Tell Me More will replace the weeknight encore broadcast of Fresh Air at 8:00 p.m. Morning Edition will now begin airing at 4:00 a.m. weekday mornings, adding an additional hour of the latest news to the early morning broadcast.

The programming changes support KERA’s continued mission to serve its diverse audience through deeply important and impactful programming that reflects the multitude of voices, cultures and perspectives represented in North Texas. The full KERA FM program schedule can be accessed here.
