KERA’S “CEO” FEATURES GREGG TANNER OF DEAN FOODS

Tanner discusses how the country’s largest milk processor and distributor manages an intricate supply chain delivering perishable products from more than 70 nationwide plants. Tanner also shares the challenges of staying competitive and offers insight into how the company plans to satisfy consumers’ changing tastes through new product development. “You have to go out there and figure out what the consumer is looking for,” Tanner says. “And when you meet that consumer need where they expect it, they will support it. So I think there’s a lot of opportunity.”

Gregg Tanner serves as Chief Executive Officer for Dean Foods Company, a role he assumed in October 2012. Prior to serving as CEO, Mr. Tanner served as the Company’s Chief Supply Chain Officer and President of the Company’s Fresh Dairy Direct division, where he was responsible for all sales, marketing, manufacturing and distribution functions for Dean Foods’ largest business unit and for supply chain operations for Dean Foods as a whole. Mr. Tanner, who joined Dean Foods in 2007, brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his current role.
